New work, 2025

Since late 2024, I've focused on making abstract sculptural works using modroc and drawing on plaster & paper. These sculptural works are often lightweight drawings in space. Repeating motifs such as knots, nets, and grids often appear—forms that suggest internal systems, ways of marking time and space, or the meandering nature of thought itself. Research images currently on the studio wall include bamboo scaffolding in Hong Kong, Polynesian stick charts, Gaudi’s string and weight systems he used to make upside-down architectural models, and a microscopic image of human bone. Recurring questions are: how do we navigate ourselves in space and know where we are in the world? How do we formulate imagined spaces in our minds? What might these neural support networks look like?
