I live in Bristol and currently have a studio at Spike Island. My practice is materials-based, often using string, fabric, and other simple materials to create drawings and sculptural works.
My approach to making is intuitive and process-led. Using materials like paper, string, mod roc, plaster, and dye, I make colourful works that evolve through a process of play and reflection. Through often repetitive actions such as wrapping and knotting, I work through ideas of how thinking and making are connected. I’m interested in how knowledge and memory are held in the body as well as the mind. I'm fascinated by our emotional responses to colour and form, how our sensory experiences shape how we understand the world.
Recent exhibitions include a solo show at Studio Kind in Devon and a group show at APT Gallery in London. I studied art in Edinburgh and Montreal and have participated in residencies in the UK and internationally. In 2021, I received Arts Council DYCP funding to develop new work.
